While teen dating violence continues to be an underreported phenomenon, some studies have shown its prevalence to be as high as one in every 3 teenagers. This rate is even higher among “at risk” youth, including urban youth of color and those in the foster care system. This engaging presentation will provide an overview of the topic of teen dating violence, including a presentation of statistics, identification of early warning signs, and common themes experienced amongst teens. It will conclude with suggested interventions strategies that can be utilized when working with this population.
