In previous sessions, participants learned to identify and assess challenging behaviors in the context of disabilities. In session 2, Presenter will continue with lecture, handouts and discussion in the area of managing challenging behaviors focusing on specific interventions to address these specific behaviors. Presenter will lead and direct question and answer sessions throughout this session.

Objectives:
  1. Learn the difference between proactive and reactive interventions.
  2. Peer-discuss interventions they have used in their practice and will brainstorm interventions that might be effective in particular situations.
  3. Participants will practice with one another ways to discuss proactive interventions with care givers.
