Foster Care Training

This training looks at the key elements of trauma treatment that any and all staff can use with all clients or students. Form the basis of a safety foundation (Herman, 1992), the course then looks at the neuro-sequential model (Perry, 2006) and the PolyVagal Theory (2011) to lay a strong scientific foundation for the need for safety in any aspect of trauma treatment and recovery. Specific evidenced-based treatments, as identified in the California Clearinghouse for EBP for Child Welfare, will be discussed, as well as CSEC-specific curricula.
