Loss is a part of life, and grief can be debilitating. Death is only one kind of loss; we may also mourn changes in relationship, health, professional role, living situation and we may grieve social, institutional and environmental conditions. At times we may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or lost. This training offers practices and ideas that support our ability to safely experience and express sorrow, individually and collectively. We’ll acknowledge the impact of grief, internally and externally, and explore strategies to shift despair into positive action, for ourselves and with others. This training will be experiential and interactive, including art activities, discussion, case examples, and lecture based on years of clinical experience, current research and community practices.
