Foster Care Training

This training will explore the breadth of identities associated with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities, and how to utilize culturally competent language and behavior for working with this population. Participants will increase their knowledge of social determinants of health, disparities, health care access, and legal and policy issues that impact LGBTQ communities. Participants will work together to develop concrete strategies to scenarios that they might encounter in behavioral health, public health, and social service settings, and explore LGBTQ-affirming systems and practices for effective service provision. Interactive, solutions-oriented, and engaging, this workshop will provide opportunities for learning and problem solving at all knowledge levels.
