Foster Care Training

Staff will receive an overview of a safety planning process in the community, including assessment of salient behavioral, emotional, and systemic risk factors, and identification of environmental safety concerns. Documentation of plans to address identified concerns will be stressed, as will the need for a collaborative process with clients and placement families. Specific recommendations for self-harm, drug use, domestic violence, sexual acting out, runaways, and assault will be reviewed.
