This seminar draws on the theory of Liberation Psychology, Queer and Critical Race theories and frameworks to address ways that community, culture and how relationships help to create opportunities or challenges for healing and liberation for foster youth with histories of trauma. In working with diverse foster youth, it is important for Participants to explore their understanding of intersectional identities as well as power/privilege dynamics. This training will help participants understand best practices for working across difference, increasing self-reflective capacity, and deconstructing colonial concepts.
