This training, led by a survivor of sex trafficking, is designed for foster parents, kinship care providers and foster youth. Topics include an overview of the current status of human trafficking in the United States, legal definitions of human trafficking, and statistical data related to trafficking. Common trafficker profiles and tactics will be discussed as well as their targeted populations, most often vulnerable youth such as those in foster care. Participants will learn typical red flags and indicators someone may be involved in a human trafficking ring, and how to effectively communicate with victims. Finally, resources for further research and education will be provided.
