Foster Care Training

This course will discuss the legal responsibilities of a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect in California. It will identify what mandated reporters should consider when child abuse or neglect is suspected, including behavioral and physical indicators and cultural considerations. Additionally, it identifies what is not considered child abuse and gives ideas on overcoming obstacles to reporting. Immunity and liability of the mandated reporter will be discussed as well as what happens after a report is made to a child welfare agency.
