This workshop will explore the experience of youth of African ancestry using the perspective and theories of African Centered psychology. Participants will examine and discuss societal stressors and the experience of youth of African ancestry, which impacts well- being and social emotional functioning. Participants will address their perception of difficulties youth of African ancestry face and cross reference their thoughts and feelings to those of youth of African ancestry. Participants will explore questions and experiences relating to youth of African ancestry and learn strategies to best support youth of African ancestry. This workshop will offer participants an engaging learning environment to develop skills and build cultural humility.
