CVC and EIS are committed to encouraging conversations that are meaningful and impactful and that will strengthen providers’ commitment to expanding cultural awareness, responsiveness and humility. Because we understand that our families are impacted by racism and other oppressive social systems, we are committed to tailoring our work to the sociocultural context of the unique family dynamics of our clients. As co-creator of the #Black Lives Matter movement Alicia Garza will provide an inspirational keynote address and participate in a “Fireside Chat” that will be followed by a Q&A session. Participants will be able to ask questions and receive information to support their own work in advocating for the clients and communities and in their efforts to address state violence and interrupt racism and oppressive practices that harm our clients and our communities.
