There is established and solid scientific evidence that our brains are constantly being changed, at a physical and structural level, by how we pay attention, and what we pay attention to. In this day-long experiential applied mindfulness training, we’ll explore habits and practices for optimizing our own wellbeing, self-care, and resiliency, as well as that of the young people whom we serve. The training will combine experiential learning about cutting-edge neuroscience and neurophysiology, with practical tips, tools, and practices for implementing what we know about the cultivation of well-being both within the context of work to support our centeredness, presence, and empathy as service providers, as well as introducing frameworks for helping to support young people with trauma histories to begin to create the conditions for greater connection to themselves, in relationships, and with the living world to enhance their experience of safety and catalyze self-healing.
