Get ready to dive into the many facets and layers of grief and loss with this training! Throughout this one-day training, you’ll see the common themes of complicated vs. uncomplicated grief, the importance of curiosity throughout someone’s process, and how to keep the complexity of grief all together, woven into your clinical work. The training will provide opportunities for discussion around language utilized while supporting someone who is actively grieving. We will also discuss navigating the boundaries of your experiences, both personal and professional, while supporting others with grief. We will discuss culture similarities and differences throughout grieving, and how the grief process may change depending on the type of loss and the setting, such as within the school system, work environment, removal from home, and various relationship losses. This training will include a combination of lecture, question and answer, group discussions, case reviews, and reading selections from the trainer’s book, Weeping Willow – Lessons of Loss and Love.
