This two-part training, designed for professionals working with children and families in community mental health settings, provides an exploration of Polyvagal Theory and its practical applications. Over two 3-hour sessions, participants will gain foundational knowledge of the theory and learn how to incorporate its principles into therapeutic practices to enhance emotional regulation, connection, and resilience in the families they serve. The course blends theoretical insights with experiential activities to deepen understanding and skill development. Participants will explore how the nervous system influences behavior, how to identify states of dysregulation, and how to create interventions that foster safety and co-regulation for system impacted youth and families.
