Pro-ACT Workshop Certification required for attendance and certification in Pro-ACT Restraint. This training is an ad-on workshop to Pro-ACT and is only suitable for caregivers in a hands-on facility or home. In this training, students use what they’ve previously learned and practiced in Pro-ACT, but now address failure and the eventuality that serious injury cannot be avoided without physical intervention. Students will gain an understanding of the risks involved with using manual restraints on clients, an overview of legal and licensing restrictions on the use of manual restraint, and finally practice applying manual restraint. In order to be certified, participants must fully participate in all forms of manual restraint, including acting in the role of the client to experience a manual restraint themselves. This course is designed for fully ambulatory adults. [7 hours]
