Supervision presents unique challenges to supervisor. In the course participants will learn how to identify learning styles and personality types, the benefits and challenges these present supervisees in learning to work with clients and how to use this knowledge to improve their work with supervisees. Participants will also learn how to address the impact of Vicarious Traumatization on supervisees and their work with clients. They will also explore the legal and ethical issues around technology including use of social media and privacy issues in clinical work. Finally, they will learn how to address supervisee’s challenges with staying on top of paperwork. The information provided in the course is essential to providing high quality supervision to clinicians working with system involved youth. Content will be taught through lecture, small group exercises, individual self-assessment and large group discussions.
