Providers can be a significant source of support in implementing foster care plans and ensuring appropriate social and emotional development for youth who have experienced significant trauma. in order to promote physical and mental health and well-being providers ensure that the child’s unique needs are met. Through their expertise with foster youth — as mediators, relationship builders and client advocates — they can be integral to improving the lives of children in foster care. This training will review the impact of providers on foster youth and provide examples of how providers can enhance the social and emotional development of foster youth.
