This training is for all service providers who work with system involved youth and families. The facilitator will guide discussions of how to communicate with awareness around cultural difference and somatic impact. Information will be provided about: the elements of successful conversations about race, the importance of tracking somatic responses and how to discuss differences with children. The facilitator will create a safe space for providers to assess cultural identity, how racism affects conversation and how it may intersect with experiences youth and families. There will be a place for providers to share how these conversations affect them personally in the work.
