There is a growing demand for workforce education and supports to better understand, respond to, and heal the impact of trauma on our communities and workforce. The TIS 101 is a basic training designed to understand how trauma and stress impacts developing bodies and brains, communities, organizations and systems. The goal of this training is to bring a cross-section of our workforce together (janitors, counselors, administrative supports, clinical staff, leadership, etc.) to develop shared language and understanding of what it means to be a trauma-informed organization and apply common practices to help our communities heal. This 3.5 hour training was developed for staff working in impacted systems of care, with the goal of moving those systems from being trauma-inducing to become healing organizations.
