Given the diversity that exists within the United States, it’s essential to understand one’s cultural heritage. Many times, one’s culture can be overlooked in social services, which creates barriers to engaging the system involved youth and their families. The training will provide an overview of cultural factors that are essential to incorporate in the support we provide to system involved youth and families. The training will also provide participants an overview of microaggressions so they are able to identify, prevent, and/or address discrimination which system involved youth and families they work with may experience.
