Trauma is often misdiagnosed, and it’s essential for child welfare providers who diagnose system-involved youth to have the tools to accurately diagnose them. It is also important for providers who don’t diagnose youth to be aware of trauma diagnoses so they can effectively advocate for system-involved youth. This workshop will focus on common misdiagnoses, why inaccurate diagnoses occur, and how to accurately diagnose trauma.
