This interactive training will offer safety planning and crisis de-escalation skills to help ourselves and others behave and communicate more safely and effectively. Strategies will be applicable to community-based work with at-risk youth, as well as to other clinical settings. We’ll consider how intention and preparation contribute to safety, and discuss the neurobiology of the fear response. Creative and interactive activities will offer participants an opportunity to explore the impact of responding to high-risk situations.
