Foster Care Training

This training focuses on providing participants a basic understanding of James Prochaska and Carlo DiClemente’s Stages of Change. Participants will learn how to assess motivation of a child from out of home care to change a particular behavior and, subsequently, how to then create stage appropriate interventions. The training also teach participants how to utilize William Miller and Stephen Rollnick’s open ended questions, affirmations, reflections, and summaries (O.A.R.S) to help children from out of home care to find the motivation to move through the initial Stages of Change.
