Understanding depression and anxiety is a key element in preventing depression and anxiety in system involved youth. The emotional health and wellbeing in system involved youth can be compromised and disrupted due to the extenuating life circumstances and experiences they endure. This can manifest in mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, anger, and other illnesses. Learn somatic techniques to support system involved youth to develop their ability to self-regulate their emotional experience and prevent depression and anxiety. This course demonstrates a practical system for establishing a secure attachment to self-using techniques such as breath work, grounding, energy movement and mindfulness to promote emotional self-regulation. Using this skills-based system we can provide youth with skills to self-prevent emotional challenges, anxiety and depression.
