This 40-Hour course meets the requirements outlined in the Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program 40-Hour Initial Certification Core of Knowledge Guidelines. It is designed to prepare participants to become administrators in residential therapeutic facilities. Participants will discuss and review CCL regulations as they pertain to administrative oversight. Participants will also be given the opportunity to make practical use of applicable laws, general business operations, management, supervision and training of staff members as a means to implementing effective programs for traumatized youth in the child welfare system. This training will include some best practices in the area of service delivery. The curriculum will include strategies designed to me the specific and unique cultural, psychosocial, educational, and physical needs of youth in foster care. Participants will be given the opportunity to work on developing programs that are safe, engaging and therapeutic.
