This training is the first and second session of a four part series of trainings designed to prepare resource families to work with youth in the foster care system. Presenters will review in depth the County’s Core Competencies and Interim Licensing Standard Regulations. Participants will discuss & review what the tasks and responsibilities of becoming a resource parents are. Identifying members of the treatment team, Cultural Humility, Personal Rights, Prudent Parent standards, Confidentiality & Visitation Practices. Participants will receive a better understanding of the foster care system structure and explore how to provide a well-planned, safe, and secure environment designed to meet children’s individual and unique needs.
- Participants will receive a better understanding of the foster care system structure.
- Understand the role of a resource parent and be able to identify members of the treatment team.
- Increase knowledge of Continuum of Care Reform Core Competencies.
- Identify and review key elements of successful foster parenting.
