Foster Care Training

We are all driven by various aspects or “parts” of the self. When we experience traumatic events and difficult childhood experiences, parts of the self surface to protect us from being harmed in the future. These protector parts can appear in a variety of ways; from anger, anxiety and depression to addiction and the inner critic. In this training, we will look at how parts play a role in the lives of system involved youth (SIY) and families as a result of childhood trauma and broken attachment bonds. Participants will learn how to use a parts work approach to support SIY and families to heal the parts that where harmed and regain balance to connect to the “original whole self” that is centered, calm, balanced, and directed by self-love.
