This training will serve as an introduction to using the narrative approaches when working with youth and families. The training will utilize didactic and experiential approaches to understand the implications of narrative approaches for work with youth. Participants will use this series to explore how concepts such as externalization, re-authoring, mapping of problems, success walks, and narrative letter-writing might provide a framework for engaging and working with foster youth using a trauma-informed lens. Selected readings which exemplify the use of narrative work in case examples will be provided for participants.
