Foster Care Training

This two day training is designed to provide participants with the sills to become trainers of Motivational Interviewing. Attendees will review foundational Motivational Interviewing skills/concepts and practice 2-3 different exercises to cement learning in their own future trainings. Skills/concepts will include: Core values and spirit of MI, Value work, Assessing client communication (sustain talk, change talk, discord), Open ended questions, affirmations, reflections, and summaries, Goal setting/focusing, Change plan. Exercises will include: role plays, worksheets, goal and value cards, readiness rulers, video excerpts, and the use of music and poetry.
