Mindfulness practice allows us to be fully present with awareness of our thoughts and feelings in each moment. When we learn to do so with compassion, it allows us to be more strategic with our response to any situation. In community, this means more opportunity for connection and less micro- and macroaggressions. Mindful play helps to build resilience, creativity, fortitude and connection in community for activists, therapists, social workers, and youth! Being mindful increases our ability to recover from stress, avoid being reactionary, and ultimately be more present and productive in service of your clients and team. Playfulness helps us to remember that at the core, we all want to be happy! This workshop will include mindful practice/meditation, and several accessibly physical games to help relieve stress, build community, and increase mental functioning.
