Foster Care Training

For providers who see youth within the community, several issues related to youth safety and crisis may arise within an uncontained setting. Youth with high-level needs who do not have placement stability are at particular risk. The targeted outcomes of this presentation are to allow for the participants to continue to explore culturally appropriate service approaches to address crises(es) in the field with foster youth. Special focus is paid to understanding ways to deescalate the service provider, the youth, and other extended parties before and/or when there is emotionally charged situation present. The anticipated hope is to work toward options to increase and improve safety for all parties involved.
