Children in care have life experiences that can lead to disruptions in their daily functioning. This training will address the basic principles that underlie the repair of these disruptions or wounds. The course will address what heals the brain; the use of regulatory activities in order to increase age appropriate behavior; the concept of dosing in therapeutic work; and a therapeutic web.

Objectives:
  1. Participants will be able to describe the different types of regulatory behaviors.
  2. Participants will be able to utilize regulatory interventions in their work with children in care who have experienced trauma and/or neglect.
  3. Participants will be able to utilize the concept of doing in their work with children in care.
  4. Participants will be able to describe the basic concepts regarding healing the brain from the disruption of trauma.
