This three part healing circle for BIPOC identified Program Directors that addresses racism, internalized oppression and provides structured antiracist empowerment tools based on Ibram X Kendi PhD’s book How to Be An Antiracist. Each meeting will allow participants to learn, define concepts, discuss the impact on multiple levels and to be solution focused regarding impact to self and thus being able to better facilitate these inherent challenges within the work leadership environment. Leaders in any organization, while they bear the brunt of addressing organizational challenges, are first and foremost individuals who at their core desire to do what’s right and are challenged by a reduced number of available peers for support due to the nature of their position. Leaders need a safe place to discuss challenges and perceived faults in an environment which provides role safety. In this training program directors will have a dedicated space to identify how racism and internalized oppression has shown up in supervisory relationships and leadership initiatives. Focus will also be placed on anti-racist ideology and actions that can create repair.
