“The Harm Reduction Strategies for Working with At-Risk Youth and Young Adults training is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to apply harm reduction strategies when working with at-risk youth and young adults. The training will begin with a discussion on harm reduction strategies we use in every day life and examples of harm reduction that are currently being used in the public health and social servicearenas. Next, the training will discuss how harm reduction applies to participants through individual, community and societal harms. The training will then look at principles for applying harm reduction with at-risk youth and young adults. Then the training will discuss safety planning, assessments and contextually specific safety tips for at-risk youth and young adults. Lastly, the training will discuss specific scenarios for participants to practice applying harm reduction strategies.
