Working towards goals with youth and families can involve progress, stagnation, and setbacks. It is important as providers to understand the feedback process and its relevance to planning with youth and families around their goals. This training provides context around scenarios in which feedback may take place with youth and families, explores what gets in the way of effective feedback and communication with youth and families, and provides a framework for understanding feedback and its use. Participants will participate in discussion around dilemmas that have surfaced around feedback with youth and families and will be invited to explore alternative feedback frameworks. Training techniques used will include didactic presentation, powerpoint, case discussion, and group dialogue.
