This training will give participants an opportunity to explore the kinds of awareness, engagement and information necessary to address issues of power and privilege in working across cultural difference with youth and other providers. The goal is to enhance participants’ development through experiencing all aspects of the training, as well as supporting their capacity to lead discussions around power & privilege with youth and other service providers. Facilitators will have the opportunity to review and engage with frameworks and tools to understand and challenge dynamics of white supremacy and internalized oppression, and have opportunity for dialogue and self-reflection. They will also have the opportunity to discuss difficult encounters they have had concerning issues of privilege and power dynamics and explore options to support an effective outcome.
