As we work in cross sex partnerships, it is beneficial to examine the unique dynamics of our socialization around sex and gender. Although there is an argument that we exist in a post-feminist society, women still regularly face experiences of gender inequality, while men benefit from gender privilege. In what ways do these two phenomena work together to create misunderstandings, missed collaborations, and acts of supremacy, especially in the child welfare system and profession? Additionally, the feminine/masculine gender binary provides little room for the multitudes of women and men whose personal identities veer even slightly outside of the prescribed gender norms. This workshop will be interactive and participatory. Please arrive ready to engage, explore, teach, and learn with one another!
