This training will discuss cultural resiliency traits observed within the Latinx families who have migrated to the US. We will then explore how youth health care providers can enhance, empower and assist in building meaning based on their history, trauma and their lived experiences in order to increase that resiliency. By expanding on resiliency as an adaptive response and empowering the youth and families we serve, that youth care professionals can assist in transcending traumatic experiences. We will discuss and explore ways youth can move beyond resiliency to overcome language and cultural barriers, bonding with their loved ones, connecting with new people and reconnecting with their own creativity and a sense of humor.
