“In this training, participants will learn about principles of engagement that can be applied to families who have experienced generations of trauma. Typical challenges found in the engagement process will also be identified, such as cultural implications, bias, and organizational issues as well as ways to address such challenges. Lastly, we will discuss best practices and effective strategies for the engagement process and in building a positive alliance with families, including from a trauma informed lens and through culturally responsive services.
