The term “School to Prison Pipeline” refers to a process through which students are systematically moved out of schools and put on a track to prison. This process is carried out by criminalizing youth and youth behavior through disciplinary policies that put youth into contact with law enforcement at an early age. Some of these policies include; Zero Tolerance, the inclusion of Police Officers on campuses, and exclusion of students through suspensions and expulsions. This course will review the data connected to this process, it’s causes, history, and techniques to disrupt it.
