Foster Care Training

This training is a basic overview of positive discipline. The purpose of discipline is to teach a child right from wrong, as well as responsible behavior at home and in the community. A foster child may require greater understanding and guidance given their background.

The trainers will provide suggestions for determining an effective means of discipline for a child, how to reduce power struggles, and inform caregivers on the differences between punishments vs. consequences. Examples of effective and thoughtful consequences, with emphasis on the use of “natural” consequences, will be shared.
