Developing oneself as an anti-racist ally and accomplice requires ongoing awareness, constant reflection, and a deep commitment to continuing education and practice. In this Part II workshop, open only to those who attended an earlier A Better Way ‘Ally’ training with Jon, we will both deepen our discussions on concepts and then building on this knowledge base, spend significant time on application. Participants will be given ample opportunity to share about efforts to apply learning from Part I, to work through scenarios related to clients, colleagues, and communities, and to plan for further integration.

Within the context of recent elections, the ongoing pandemic and the ongoing struggle to advance racial justice, it is important that we continue coming together to collectively develop anti-racist practices and policies as the norm within the child welfare system and society at large. As with the first training, this training is geared towards white identifying providers, those who work with white colleagues, or people of color who simply wish to add to this valuable dialogue.
