There is a disproportionate number of Latinx youth who come in contact with the various county, criminal and school systems. Whether these youth and families enter the various services provider systems by choice, not by choice and/or by need, these families need the support of case managers, social workers, and therapists. As service providers our understanding of their culture, their specific needs and ways to engage effectively will be a large determinant of their ability to successfully move out of these systems. This requires culturally responsive practice embedded into every aspect of the work we do. During this training participants will learn about the complex cultural diversity of Latinx communities, how to engage them effectively and ways to put these strategies into practice
