7 SESSIONS

Participants* of this Professional Learning Community (PLC) will read Dr. Ken Hardy’s book “Promoting Cultural Sensitivity in Supervision.” Participants will engage in thoughtful discussion to increase collaborative learning and reinforce concepts over the course of 7 sessions.

Per Dr. Ken Hardy, the rapidly changing demographics of our society make it virtually mandatory for supervisors and clinicians to develop effective strategies for attending to issues of diversity throughout all domains of the clinical process. Even when the desire and commitment to be more culturally attuned are clear, possessing the “know how” to achieve such a lofty and often-difficult undertaking leaves many supervisors in a quandary.

*This training is intended for active supervisors working in the field of social work and mental health. A number of participants will likely have attended Dr. Ken Hardy’s training Cultural Sensitivity in Supervision hosted by Seneca Family of Agencies on 9/12/2018, although attendance at that training is not required for this PLC. All participants are welcome and encouraged to view clips of Dr. Ken Hardy’s trainings online.
