The training starts out with a discussion about vicarious trauma, self-care, and engagement with ourselves. The training then provides a comprehensive overview of trauma as many children experience childhood abuse prior to their exploitation. Participants will also learn about the Stages of Change model as it applies to commercially sexually exploited youth. This knowledge will assist participants in developing realistic expectations for themselves and the youth. Lastly, participants will learn strategies to address peer recruitment and AWOLs.
