Trainer will outline and discuss common childhood illnesses, illnesses that children pass around through casual contact at schools and day care settings. Trainer will also discuss diseases that are preventable as well as diseases that are unpredictable, and the treatment of any illness. Trainer will talk about immunization schedules and concerns around vaccines (with hand-outs). Discussion will take place around when to take a child to urgent care vs. getting telephone advice from advice nurse, also the urgency of getting medical treatment depending on the health status and/or age of the child. Trainer will also talk about certain diseases that need to be brought to the attention of Public Health Department and those that need to be reported via incident report to Community Care Licensing.
