This training (open to all) will facilitate understanding by those who deliver service plans for foster youth about the importance of engaging foster youth and their caregivers in the process of assessing current needs and strengths. The Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) measure will be highlighted as a tool for engagement, assessment, and service planning that emphasizes collaboration, transparency, and shared vision. Particular issues pertinent to working with foster youth and their caregivers in a trauma informed way will be reviewed.
