Suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth aged 15-24. Risk of youth and teen suicide is amplified by systems involvement. Therefore, it is crucial for social service providers to learn how to assess suicide, know what to do if a youth endorses suicidal ideation, and how to foster protective factors. The course will also touch on helping youth grieve friends and family lost to suicide.
