Through the use of PowerPoint presentation, interactive exercises, media, and vignettes, this presentation will provide participants with the tools to discuss difficult topics with families with young children. Participants will explore how to engage young children and caregivers around topics including incarceration and substance use that impact the care giving relationship. Participants will use self-reflective tools to build their confidence in addressing these issues with families. Participants will learn what protective factors support families’ well-being.
