Working with the families of youth in care often means working with grandparents and other elderly relatives, especially as the number of people in the US over 60 continues to grow. Therefore, developing knowledge and skills for working with this population is becoming increasingly important. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the pertinent mental and physical health issues often experienced by older adults, how these may affect the involvement of older adults in caring for the foster youth in their lives, and how caregivers of foster youth can deal with these issues in their work.
